Project Overview

Justrade is a community platform for second-hand trading.
Justrade connected local users to exchange pre-loved items. Key features include location-based listings, in-app chat, secure user profiles, and an intuitive interface that makes trading simple, safe, and sustainable.
Problem
As the cost of living rises, more Ontarians are turning to peer-to-peer marketplaces like Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, and Craigslist.
However, nearly 70% still feel uneasy about meeting in person to exchange goods—anxiety that is notably higher among women than men.

Why Users Hesitate to Exchange Goods In-Person?

Ontarians are increasingly concerned about the safety of in-person transactions on online P2P marketplaces. The strong demand for identity verification highlights an opportunity to boost consumer confidence and improve transaction security on these platforms.
Design Challenge
How can we improve trust and safety for users
in P2P marketplaces?

How I Solved the Problem?
User Analysis
Who need Justrade?
I focused on two core user group: budget-conscious individuals seeking safe, scam-free second-hand deals, and eco-minded users who value reusing and recycling through local item exchanges.

Information Architecture
Based on user analysis, I started by mapping out a clear user flow using AI frameworks, then conducted in-depth research to validate and refine the process.

Key insight
As a result, I found that Users feel overwhelmed at the start due to unclear skin type and product info. Personalized guidance and ingredient clarity help build confidence and support better decisions.
Wireframe & Prototype
I created multiple wireframes based on the information architecture (IA) to guide users smoothly through the experience, focusing on clarity, ease of navigation, and personalized product discovery.
Logo design
The logo design takes inspiration from smooth, natural shapes—like golden ratio curves—to create a sense of harmony and trust. The vibrant blue color brings a clean and calm feel, reflecting Justrade’s values around sustainability and community sharing.

Key Learning
In-depth User Testing
Conduct more thorough user testing to identify pain points and preferences, leading to more targeted improvements.Enhanced Browsing Experience
Allocate more time to improve the intuitiveness and ease of browsing and purchasing.Personalized Recommendations
If possible, add an algorithm to recommend items based on user preferences for a more seamless and personalized experience.
